River Day
The river was calm and inviting, its surface shimmering in the afternoon light. We launched just as the sun peeked through the clouds, casting golden reflections on the water. Birds called from the trees, and every so often, a fish jumped, leaving ripples in its wake. We floated downstream, soaking in the peacefulness, stopping now and then to explore the banks or dip our feet in the cool water. It was the kind of day that felt simple and good—just us, the river, and the steady flow of time.
