Our Story

Pend Oreille River Gear began as an idea that ignited a passion, which turned into a hobby, and is now our company. We are a small team with extensive expertise and professional careers in marketing and operations. More importantly, we are property owners on the Pend Oreille River waterfront. Our inspiration comes from the strong sense of community we find along the river's shores and waters. We are bound together by our collective appreciation for the natural beauty that surrounds us, our desire to preserve it, and our privilege to enjoy and celebrate it. We formed the idea in the middle of 2020, and immediately started researching how to bring it to life. We talked to members of our community for perspectives, learned to build websites, created hundreds of designs (most of which were discarded), and we became unexpected experts on apparel, fabric blends, and printing techniques. And of course, we dove head first into business tax laws and regulations. Through it all, we somehow managed to keep our full-time "real" jobs, and never lost site of what mattered most -- creating a brand that embodies how the Pend Oreille River community comes together.

OUR PRODUCTS

Our products consist primarily of select high quality apparel and accessory items featuring designs from our team and community members. We don't put our brand on just anything. If we would not wear it, we will not sell it. We expect our product assortment to continue expanding rapidly, guided by the input and suggestions from our customers. To stay up to date and informed of new products, please subscribe to our mailing list or follow us on social media. Creating products for such a relatively small population is tricky. We use "on demand" production techniques to produce, fulfill and ship your Pend Oreille River Gear items as you order them. In this sense, every t-shirt or sweatshirt is a "one of a kind" production just for you. The upside is that you'll have a garment or accessory that represents a niche community and unique lifestyle that you're passionate about. The downside is that you'll have to be a little more patient. While production times vary by product, most orders will arrive to your home in about two weeks. OUR PRICING

Given that our potential customer base is inherently limited, and that margins in the custom apparel business are slim, we know we'll never get rich doing this. That's fine by us because we're not necessarily in it for the money. Our pricing reflects the costs of design, materials, printing, and shipping, and little extra bit to justify this 24-hour, 365-day obsession of ours

Though our products are of the highest quality, and our production methods are proven and tested, there's always a chance that an item for your unique order fails to meet your expectations.
